Cuban-American rapper and songwriter Alexander Izquierdo, better known by the mononym Eskeerdo, was born and raised in Hialeah, Florida, a city in Miami-Dade County. At the age of 15, he dropped out of high school to pursue his dream of becoming an artist. He began his career gaining attention, co-writing songs for chart-topping artists such as Rihanna, Kanye West, Marroon 5 & Fifth harmony. Thanks to his writing credits he has won two Grammy awards to date. In late 2014, Eskeerdo released his debut single “For the City” which became Miami Heat’s anthem and was featured in the team’s short film “Heat Na-tion.” In 2015, he released his debut EP, Eskeerdo, influenced by his hometown of Hialeah, which has the highest percentage of Cuban and Cuban American residents of any city in the United States. While working on his rising career as an artist, Eskeerdo continues to write songs with his latest hit placement being Fifth Harmony’s “Work for Home” scoring him a No. 1 on Billboard’s Pop and Rhythmic radio charts. In August 2016, he released his second EP, Cuban Jesus, featuring Miami hit “Weekend Behav-ior.” Eskeerdo started 2017 running, releasing his latest single “BITTA” which was premiered first by 99Jamz on their NEW YEARS Mix Show. “BITTA” is currently being played through out Miami with huge support from club and radio DJ’s.
