G Perico’s introduction to the music business came very early on in his life. His uncle had his own independent record label and a studio at his grandmother’s house. During his school years, English was always his strong point and was where he began writing poems and storytelling. Being exposed to the business and creative side of music during his youth provided the perfect synergy for him to become an artist himself.

However, it wasn’t until he turned 17 that he recorded his first song and began to get groomed as a rapper. G Perico began his rap career in a group with two other rappers that called themselves the Wild Bunch. During this time, he had one foot in the studio and one foot in the streets. He would oftentimes find himself in trouble with the law, but managed to stay focused on the music. In 2011, he built a studio for other people to record and started So Way Out Records with his business partner and producer Poly Boy. In between other artists’ sessions, he would sneak in the booth and record himself to develop his skills. As he started gaining confidence in himself as an artist, he began recording his first two mixtapes, ‘Tha Innerprize’ and ‘Hiatus,’ all while fighting a case. He released The Innerprize in late 2012, and Hiatus in 2013, while incarcerated. Once he was released in late 2013, he immediately started working on ‘Tha Innerprize 2’ and opened a retail store in South Central. In March 2015, he dropped ‘Tha Innerprize 2,’ which included his biggest hit yet – “G Shit.”

In September 2016 he released “Shit Don’t Stop”. This project was a turning point in his music career, it was where G Perico found his sound and when the industry started to take notice and record labels started calling. Since then, he’s performed at several venues and concerts including The Roxy, The Viper Room, Fool’s Gold Day Off, A3C, and more.

Most recently, G Perico has been collaborating with artists such as Curren$y, Nipsey Hussle, Mozzy, and Freddie Gibbs, among others, while working on his own upcoming projects.
